Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop at first employing 4 people. Product sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other components. Throughout 5 years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 employees and their annual sales volume had increased to $330,000. These days, Cascade is amongst the leading international makers within the material handling industry.
Manufacture and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business possibilities. During the last sixty years, the material handling industry has developed into a very complex area and Cascade has proudly played a part on this development. Cascade at the moment continues to grow as the best provider of lift truck accessories and numerous associated items. The company feels confident in their skill to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's requirements in the future and remaining aggressive within the world market.
In the 1950's, Cascade started designing, making and advertising hydraulic accessories. Construction was completed in the year 1956 on a new facility to be able to house all the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current center of operations. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total employees reached one hundred eighty workers and sales had reached nearly $2,300,000.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the global world of the material handling industry when the company established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Afterward in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing facilities throughout the continental US to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are manufactured worldwide due to lots of subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and 1997 after buying 5 companies, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide best in blades.
